Before the hurricane, KPC was celebrating its 85th anniversary and transitioning into a full polytechnic, receiving government support for agricultural focus and tech integration.

• Severe Damage: Hurricane Melissa caused catastrophic damage, ripping roofs off dorms, collapsing walls, and destroying agricultural assets like greenhouses and poultry.
